It was great to see everyone on Monday Evening at our November Club Night. I was delighted to see so many of you in attendance.
Geoff Salt very kindly presented the Certificate for our Recent Test passes.
Andy is shown pictured with Geoff Salt, our Chief Observer receiving his F1rst test pass certificate. Andy was observed by myself and I was delighted to receive a lovely bunch of flowers and chocolates! Thank you Andy! Andy gave a lovely speech after receiving his Pass Certificate acknowledging the support of myself, Kieron Shanks and Geoff who carried out Check Rides. I know that Kieron and Geoff were equally thrilled to receive their chocolates in recognition of their help also!
Mick Sharrock is shown pictured receiving his Certificate from Geoff Salt. Mick was observed by one of our newer Observers, Dave Bettison. Mick received a well-deserved F1rst.
Geoff Salt is shown pictured with Peter Townsend as he received his Test Pass Certificate. Peter was observed by Geoff.
Our Observers are always happy to give post-test guidance, so please if ever you need further help after your test, do get back in touch with Geoff Salt or Kieron who will be able to arrange for further rides or assistance.
New Ride Coordinator
Our New Ride Coordinator Luke Tarrant introduced himself to the Group giving a presentation on his ideas for the 2018 Calendar. Luke is fairly new to Advanced Riding having passed his Test within the last 6 months. Luke’s ideas were as follows
As if these ideas were not enough, Luke outlined other ideas such as:-
I’m sure you’ll all support Luke in building upon the great rides we’ve already enjoyed in our Club. Luke’s contact email address is firstname.lastname@example.org . Please do not hesitate to contact him if you have further suggestions or if you are willing to offer yourself up as a Ride Leader.
Triumph Factory Visit
Geoff Salt reminded everyone of the trip to visit the Triumph factory in March – we already have a group of 15 people attending. If you are interested in attending, please contact Geoff as soon as possible email@example.com .
Once again, our Christmas Party will be held at the Black Horse at Hulland Ward. To give us something to look forward to, it will again be held in January, Saturday 27th 2018. The cost will be:
£20 for 2 courses, mince pie and coffee
£22 for 3 courses, mince pie and coffee
This event is always very popular – please do get your deposit in very quickly. Carl Haynes is coordinating this event. Carl can be contacted on 07752 581096 or by email on firstname.lastname@example.org . The menu can be found on our website or by clicking here.
At the last Club Meeting I received a Membership suggestion to provide an NEC Motorbike Show ticket as a raffle prize. I thought this was a fantastic suggestion and I was therefore really pleased to receive such a great idea. Whilst we can’t always have such exciting prizes, we are aiming to provide Race Day tickets from time to time for various circuits just to add to the mix.
Raffle winners were: –
- Mark Collier – who chose a bottle of wine
- Luke Tarrant – who chose a box of chocolates and
- Wayne Bowler – who won the NEC Motorbike Show Tickets. I understand these have now been received and will be arriving with you shortly Wayne!
I advised that we were still looking for a new Treasurer – we’ve had a couple of responses now to this request, so Mick will be in contact with you all shortly
Next Club Night
I enjoyed seeing you all again and look forward to our next club night on Monday 11th December when hopefully we can enjoy a mince pie or two together! In the meantime, ride safe!
